Discretionary Grant

Its grant made to support companies, training programmes in accordance with legislation, Skills Development Levies Act no 9 of 1999 and funding regulations. It contributes towards achievement of the objectives of Human Resource Development Strategy, National Skill Development Strategy, National skills accord, and Sector Skills Plan (SSP). Employers are encouraged to train their employees and unemployed people on credit bearing learning programmes linked to national qualifications framework governed by South Africa qualification Act (SAQA) and other related legislations such as Manpower training Act of 1981.

Discretionary Grant is the grant approved to applicants at the discretion of merSETA governing board, taking into account scarce and critical skills within the merSETA******/%%%%%*/2015/07/x293q-merSETA-Discretionary-Grants-Application-Manual
